About Binary to Text
Binary-to-text.com is built and maintained by Tim, an indie developer who makes small, sharp web tools. It’s part of a family of free client-side utilities, alongside morsecodes.io, all built on the same conviction: a converter should be fast, correct, and none of anyone’s business.
That last part is literal. Every conversion on this site runs in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded, stored, or logged, because there’s no server-side processing at all. Paste something sensitive and it never leaves your machine.
Why build another binary translator when a dozen exist? Because most of them are ad farms with a text box attached. Slow pages, popups between you and your answer, and conversion code that quietly mangles anything beyond plain English text. This site is the opposite bet: no ads, correct UTF-8 handling (emoji and accented characters convert properly, not into garbage), and pages that load fast enough that checking one byte doesn’t feel like a chore.
The converter is the heart of the site, and around it sits a full set of reference pages and short lessons. If you want to actually understand what the tool is doing, learn binary will get you there in an afternoon.
